Hannah Christianson

Hello everyone! My name is Hanna Christianson and I am from Lincoln, NE. I attend Drake University in Des Moines, IA, majoring in Actuarial Science and Accounting. My aunt, Jennifer Reshetar, and I will be leaving for Haiti very soon along with our team, and I could not be more excited for the experience ahead of me! I’ve wanted for a very long time to go on an international missions trip, and I feel like this is one way I am following God’s direction for my life.  I pray that He will give me strength physically, emotionally, and spiritually while I am working with the people of Haiti. This missions trip will challenge me to trust fully in what God’s plan is for me and for the people of Haiti, once again reminding me that God is in control!

Do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. -Isaiah 41:10

It's time for my third mission trip to Haiti!!!

In January of 2012, I was blessed to go on my first trip to Haiti. I fell head over heals in love with the country, the people (especially the kids), and just serving over all. By the moment my plane landed back home, I knew I wanted to go back as soon as possible. I was lucky to return in August of 2013 and fell in even deeper love. It was at this point that I knew Haiti would be a big part of my life.

On August 4th, I will be going for my third time. I can not even explain how excited I am to see the beautiful smiles of the children and people there. I am also excited to be the team's leader in training, and can't wait to learn and further pursue my leadership goal.

Thank you all for your love and support!

Jamie Foster

Hi! My name is Jamie and I live in Champlin with my husband, 3 dogs, a cat and a parrot. I stay busy working at a dental clinic and also as a pet groomer. In my free time I enjoy gardening, crafts, traveling, and spending time with my family. I have been on one other mission trip to Ukraine in 2005 and loved it! I first heard about Healing Haiti from my friend, Allison. After hearing all about her experience, I knew I needed to go too.  I truly enjoy helping people and am excited to see how God will use me in Haiti! I am hoping that this mission will remind me of what's important and bring me closer to God.

Shannon Fury

My name is Shannen Fury. I am going into my junior year at the University of Sioux Falls, where I am studying elementary education. I was in competitive dancing for 13 years and now am going into my 5th year of cheerleading; I am also a cheerleader for my college. This summer I have been a camp counselor at Wapogasset Lutheran Bible Camp. Serving God and others has always been a huge priority in my life. I have always wanted to serve in a 3rd world country and also go with a great group of Christians; so going with Calvary to Haiti seemed ideal. I cannot wait to see what God has in store for me on this trip.

Jennifer Reshetar

Hi, my name is Jennifer Reshetar and I live in Golden Valley with my son Harrison (4 ½).  This will be my first mission trip and I’m thrilled that I will be making this journey with my niece Hanna.  It has been a dream of mine since I was a young girl to do mission work and for whatever reason I have never put that desire into action until now.  I am beyond excited for this mission trip and cannot wait to see what unfolds and what God has in store for our team.  I’m looking forward to experiencing the Haitian culture and meeting the wonderful people of Haiti whom I have heard so much about.  God has blessed me in so many ways and I’m ready to step out in faith for what God calls us to do ~ serve others in love.

“What you are is God’s gift to you, what you do with yourself is your gift to God.” Danish Proverb

God has opened so many doors for me in the past year and a half.  I’ve joined the choir, been allowed to be on the worship teams for Calvary and joined a wonderful small group.  All have brought me joy beyond measure and Christian based friendships I’ve been missing in my life for years.  I also now find myself blessed enough to be preparing for my second trip to Haiti.  I said after my first trip, last September, I couldn’t get back fast enough.  The year has taken forever and flown by all at the same time.  I feel so much better prepared for the second time around.  I’m excited to form new friendships that can only be formed by serving others as the hands and feet of Christ.  I pray for God to keep my eyes, mind, and heart open on this next journey.

I’m packing for trip #3. Up at 4 a.m. this morning, anticipating our packing party needs tonight and the seeming endless need to do list for things at home, I knew it was time to earnestly pray.  I went in search of my “Jesus Calling” devotion book. I still recall seeing 3 copies lying around the Guesthouse in Haiti on my first trip. There is a reason.  Why go?  There is a God felt peace to this land with so many needs.  I’m drawn back by the gratitude and faith of the people who readily celebrate “God is so good.” For a little while I’ll put on hold being wife, mom, grandmother, guardian to sister,  caretaker to Dad, gardener, friend, and new owner of pup, Sophie.   I pray I can give as much to the people of Haiti with their hugs and smiles as they in turn give to me.  I’m extremely grateful to Calvary & HH for the opportunity.  Can’t wait to hold those children!!
